What Is Stress?   It is a physiological response that is connected to an external event.   There has to be a stressor, for stress to begin. It is usually something like a deadline at work you must meet, or an exam you are sitting, too much to do or maybe it could be your in-laws are coming to stay. The word ‘stress’ is described as hardship, adversity, force or pressure. When our body is faced with this, whether it is from internal or external sources, a vital response process kicks in. This is referred to as the fight-or-flight-response. Going back in time- many, many years ago, the likeliest threat a human being would encounter to spark this response would be the fear that a wild animal was about to attack them, someone was screaming at them, or weeks without food. It made sense back then, that you’d need the strength to fight back or to run away fast. When our body is in fight or flight mode, adrenaline and cortisol is released. The heart rate goes up and blood gets pumped to our limbs and away from our digestive and reproductive system. Your pupils dilate to help you see and the mind becomes hyper-vigilant. The blood sugar levels go up as well. In a healthy stress response, the cortisol level rises and falls quickly – as soon as the presumed threat is out of the way.   Remember: Stress is a biological response that is a normal part of our lives. Chronic stress, is when your body stays in this fight-or-flight mode continuously (usually because the situation isn’t resolved, as with financial stressors or a challenging boss and work situation.) Chronic stress is linked to health concerns such as digestive issues, an increased risk of heart disease and a weakening of the immune system.
  1. Limit Caffeine, Alcohol and Nicotine:
If possible, cut out caffeine, alcohol and nicotine but at least limit the amount you have. Caffeine and nicotine are stimulants and will increase your level of stress. Alcohol is a depressant when taken in large quantities, but acts as a stimulant in smaller amounts. These are often seen as being helpful to reduce stress but in fact have the opposite effect….and add to your stress level.
  1. Physical Activity:
Exercise helps reduce the level of stress you maybe feeling. Even a brisk walk out in the fresh air can restore your body and mind to a calmer, more relaxed state. Make  allowing some time for exercise a priority into your daily routine as it is a great remedy for the stressors we face in the modern age.
  1. Get More Sleep:
A lack of sleep is a significant cause of stress. Unfortunately, stress also interrupts sleep as thoughts keep going through our heads, stopping us from relaxing enough to fall asleep. So, stop doing any mentally challenging, demanding work several hours before going to bed, allowing yourself time to calm down. Do something to relax like maybe a warm bath, reading a book that tires your eyes. Also, a cup of chamomile tea or a hot milk drink might help.
  1. Relaxation Techniques:
Each day try to relax with a stress reduction technique. Self-hypnosis is very easy and can be done anywhere. One very simple technique can be to focus on a  word or phrase that has a positive meaning to you. Words such as ‘calm’ ‘love’ ‘peace’ can work well or a mantra such as “I deserve calm in my life.” If you find your mind wandering to other thoughts, simply let them go and return your focus onto your chosen words. Sitting calmly and relaxed. Meditation done daily is life changing, taking this time to clear your mind of all thoughts…. It improves your mental and physical health and wellbeing. Don’t worry if you find it hard to relax at first. Relaxation is a skill that needs to be learnt and like everything improves with practice.
  1. Talk To Someone:
Just simply talking to someone can be very helpful. Stress can cloud your judgement and stop you from seeing things clearly but when you voice what you are feeling into words, you can either see the answer yourself or the person you are talking to might come up with a solution. Maybe you might need to talk to a trained professional to put your problems into perspective. You can release some of the built-up tension by discussing it with someone.
  1. Keep A Diary:
Keeping a diary and writing down your thoughts and how you are feeling each day can be a very effective stress management tool, as it helps you become more aware of the situations, which cause you to become stressed. Use your diary to understand and identify what triggers a stress response in you and how it is that you react. You can see how effective you are in stressful situations. This can enable you to seek the help that you might need or to develop better coping mechanisms yourself.
  1. Manage Your Time:
Make a list of all the things you need to do and list them in order of genuine priority. Then ask yourself….do you really need to do this job or can you delegate it to someone else? Accept that you cannot do everything at once and that it is not necessary that you do everything yourself. Lack of time is one of the No.1 things listed as causing stress to people. Every single person has the same amount of time, so, the issue is not a lack of time but a lack of being organized. To manage your time and to get more done in a day you need to set a workable plan of your prioritises for your day and stick to it.
  1. Learn To Say ‘No:’
Learning to say ‘No’ is vital. Saying ‘Yes’ to the things you don’t want to do also causes a lot of stress. As a common cause of stress is having too much to do and too little time to do it, it makes sense to get comfortable about saying ‘No.’ To make it easier to say ‘No’ you need to understand why you find it so difficult. It can be you want to be kind; you don’t want to upset anyone. Or maybe you have a fear of conflict, rejection or not being liked. When you identify the reason, you can then help yourself with the root cause of why it is hard for you to say “No.’ Perhaps it would help to have some prepared phrases ready that you can use that would make it easier for you. Learning to say ‘No’ is saying ‘Yes’ to yourself and showing yourself some love and giving yourself more freedom!
  1. Take Control:
Stress can be triggered by a problem that you see as unsolvable. Learning how to problem solve effectively can put you in control. Again, writing the issue down is a good way to begin and then come up with as many possible solutions as you can. Then go through each one and ask some questions? …Would that work? Would that be the answer? Why wouldn’t it? How can you do this? What do you need?  When you are satisfied that you have the right answer, put a plan in place detailing each action step needed and the date it will be completed by….then you can have the control of the situation.
  1. Take Care Of You:
Take the time to rest, just to chill and do nothing. Have some pamper time…go for a massage, or to the hair salon, barbers, a walk beside the sea, out to a restaurant for a meal– do whatever is a treat for you. A short spell of rest & rewards can do wonders for your body & mind!   Karen Sydnè Coaching & Co.               High Performance Success Coach                        Professional Hypnotherapist/NLP               Certified Virtual Gastric Band Practitioner               E:karensydnecoaching@gmail.com P:+64 275143212               W:www.karensydne.com

WHAT IS ANXIETY?   Anxiety is the combining of these two symptoms - worry and stress.   Worry is the cognitive element of anxiety and stress is the physiological response, which means that anxiety is experienced in both the mind and body.   Stress is a natural response to a threat and anxiety has the same reaction but there is no threat. Worry happens in the mind; stress happens in the body and anxiety happens in the mind and the body and can be likened to that of a response to a false alarm.   At present, anxiety is attributed to being the greatest cause of depression worldwide, according to the World Health Organization….and the figures are rising. Anxiety can be the term used for a number of disorders that cause feelings of nervousness, fear, apprehension and worry.   Everyone will feel anxious at some time in their life…anxiety is normal when faced with things that might push us outside our comfort zone. It could be for example, having to stand up and give a presentation in front of others, and this causes us to stress and worry but once this challenge is over the anxiety disappears.   In our ancestor’s time anxiety came in those times of ‘fight and flight,’ those life-saving situations needed to protect them from ferocious animals….and adrenaline was released to create a sudden surge of energy, enabling them to flee from danger.   But now in our life today, it is triggered by emotionally challenged situations and the symptoms may include…. headaches, dizziness, muscle tension, pain, shaking, hyperventilating(over-breathing) feeling hot and flustered, nausea, light headedness, numbness, tingling in the face, tension in the chest. Panic attacks, phobias, compulsive thoughts and behaviours to name a few.   Or it could be anxiety trauma from a past event…. often causing flashbacks. There might be trauma, regret, remorse or guilt from the past. Lots of things can trigger an anxiety attack ….could be a sound or smell, a memory. Maybe currently it could be financial stress, relationship problems or family issues. It can be a learned behavior from copying others around us …. could be from a parent, friend, a relative, or a partner. In general, anxiety is an over-stimulation of the nervous system caused by those events in the past, what is happening at the moment in the present, or imagined concerns about what is going to happen in the future.   Because of the detrimental effect uncontrolled anxiety has on our mental health it is important to learn techniques to help control anxiety and the emotional response. Hypnosis can be used very effectively to eliminate anxiety and to provide coping tools and techniques that can help with self-control and teaches how to use relaxation to calm the mind and body.   A professional hypnotherapist can help you to identify what triggers your anxiety, to help you let go of the things that don’t really matter and to be able to focus your energy on what you can control…. your mind. The techniques will help you to live in a calmness and relaxed state and to be able to get rid of the day-to-day stresses that build-up in your mind and body. The one thing we have full control over is what we choose to focus on and what we do focus on is what we will get more of.   Benefits Of Having Greater Control Over Anxiety:
  • You will make better decisions.
  • You will have more energy and stamina.
  • The quality of your life will be significantly enhanced.
  • Your immune system will be stronger.
  • You will show less anger, fear, physical discomfort & unease.
  • You will be able to enjoy relaxation and quiet moments.
  • You will be more resilient and resourceful.
  • You will be more focused and effective in daily life.
  • You will respond in a more productive way to worry and stress.
  • You will be able to access your body’s natural ability for calmness.
  • You will have more positivity and so will achieve more.
  • You will feel better, have more time and live longer.

PAST, PRESENT, FUTURE…   “Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen.”   - Michael Jordan   The past is never lost to us, we carry it with us everywhere we go. It is in every cell of our body, our soul, it is where we learned to love and it is where we made mistakes, it is where we have been. It is where we may have made wrong decisions and went down the wrong road for a time but it is also where we made some right decisions but whatever road we took it is the one that has led us to today, the present.   The gift is knowing the present is here for today and it will soon pass and the way that we embrace it and make the most of all its moments has the power to change everything tomorrow.   Appreciate where you are in your journey, even if it is not where you want to be, as every part of your journey serves a purpose and you can either learn from it and grow or feel ripped off and be resentful. The good thing is you always get to choose at how you see your life and the direction it is taking.   You can always have a better tomorrow if you decide you will. When you believe, you achieve and it creates lots of possibilities. Our own thoughts and the words we say to ourselves impact our body, our mind and our life. Don’t wait until regret’s kick in and you wish you had done this or you had done that. Do something every day towards the ideal life that you want.   One of the things that hold people back in life and it is a huge fear that hangs over some people, is they worry what other people might be thinking about them. From the moment you worry about what other people thing about you, you lose control of yourself. Really get this, - “What anyone else thinks about you is none of your business, it only ever matters, what you think about YOU!”   When you get this, it is absolutely life-changing, your potential is being stifled if you worry about what other people think. When you truly don’t care what anyone else thinks about you, you can then reach an awesome level of freedom. Remember most people will only tell you what you can’t do….be only interested in what you can do…listen to yourself!   Do what you have to do, until you can do what you want to do. At any time, the decision you make can change your life forever, it is never too late to make a different decision. It doesn’t have to carry fear with it, just decide and do it. If you make a mistake it doesn’t matter as now you know that won’t work. Mistakes have the power to turn you into something better than you were before. So be brave and go for it!   Live your life to the fullest – don’t get to the end of your life and regret the choices you never made…it is too late; the past has been and gone and nothing will change it. Decide now today, what kind of life do you really want and then say NO to everything that isn’t what you want.   No 1 regret of the dying… “I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.”    -   Dee Britton   Everything you want is out there waiting on you and it is on the other side of fear, so step up and push through your fear and just go for it, you will always learn something.   It is great to have a clean out. When you declutter, it is getting rid of the old to make room for the new. Declutter every area of your life as it brings so much clarity to you and you can then focus on where you want to go. Declutter everything your wardrobe, kitchen cupboards, car, your office, work area, filing system, storage areas, your computer and phone and most importantly yourself – your mind, values, beliefs, goals, excuses, what you tolerate, what you think you can have and not have.   Be very careful what you tolerate in your life as you are teaching other people how to treat you. What you do not hate you will tolerate. You get out of life what you accept. Be consistent and get to the next version of you, always step up to the next challenge.   Never accept just okay from yourself, go a step further and up level what you do….always do one extra thing, one more than what anyone else would do. By lifting your standards, you set yourself up for greater results and your confidence increases. Doing ‘One Thing’ extra can create massive success today and every day.   When working out always do one extra push up when you think you can’t do more., lift one extra weight, one more set. Do one extra thing with everything you do, do that extra inch, go the extra mile….this is what successful people do.   Learn from successful people…Mark Zuckerberg asks himself this question everyday – “Am I doing the most important thing I could be doing?”  So, become a whatever person and succeed in spite of anything. When you play safe you are taking the biggest risk of your life as you stagnant and don’t grow.   In our today’s world where information is there at the click of our fingertips don’t become a victim to ‘information overload’ as it can stop you in your tracks. You can fall into that trap of continually searching, feeling that you don’t know enough, as you discover another new fact that you didn’t know. Life is a journey and there is always more to learn but keep going forward and learn on the way.   “Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.”    -   Ralph Waldo Emerson   What does your perfect day look like? Imagine it from sunrise until sunset….write it down clearly and precisely as there is power in writing it down. Then do something every day to move you closer to your perfect day.   If you don’t have a clear picture of what you really want…how will you know when you get it? Sometimes our lives have to be completely shaken up, changed and rearranged to take us to another place and we find that was where we were meant to be.   When you don’t expect anything from yourself, you become dependent on others. Create a confident new you, you can have the life you want. Set your goal, focus on it, make decisions and take the necessary action and anything is possible.   Holding on is believing that there’s only a past – letting go is knowing there is a future. Start where you are, with what you have. Ask yourself great questions as questions help you overcome challenges and find a solution. Ask, “what’s great about this?” or “how can I use this?”   Focus on the ‘How’ rather than the ‘Why’ as the secret to getting ahead, is getting started. Don’t wait until you reach your goal to be proud of yourself, be proud of yourself every step you take. It is far better to die with memories, not dreams, so create memories every day. No one needs to wait before starting to improve their life, their world. Very often it is a change of self that is needed and you are much stronger than your excuses, so become  an ‘I can do anything person.’   “Remember today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.” – Dale Carnegie   Never wait for everything to be perfect before you begin as what is perfect, it is only your perception of it. Perfection is like procrastination; it stops you in your tracks and is the killer of your dreams. You don’t have to be extreme but just start, keep focused, be consistent and anything is possible. Also take time in your day to smell the roses, press pause regularly and just breath….it brings more clarity to your mind allowing new ideas to come to you.   It helps to do the things first in your day that you don’t want to do, get them cleared off your list and then you don’t have to stress thinking about them. For instance, like that phone call you don’t want to make, just pick up the phone and do it, the relief you feel is enormous.   There are no limits to what you can achieve, except the limits you put on yourself by your own thinking. The magic happens when you believe in yourself. To get experience – you have to first have the experience, so I am a great believer in…Just doing it, start before you are ready and you can make anything happen. Life changes very quickly when you have a positive attitude.   Look ahead into the future and see yourself doing what it is you want and feel how it would make you feel, what are the emotions you are experiencing. When you can see the picture as really happened, it can’t help but happen, you do become limitless and unstoppable!   As Dr Joe Dispenza says – “How you think and how you feel, creates your state of being, when you start your day thinking about the past, the familiar past, it will become the predictable future!”

A common phrase I hear said so often from people is just how BUSY they are.

If this sounds like you and it’s a phrase you regularly use…then what exactly are you BUSY doing?

Quite often I find it is more a lack of direction than not having enough time. Everyone has the same amount of time in their day, no matter who they are, where they live or how much money they have, no one gets any more hours in a day. How is it that some people can accomplish so much and some so little?

Successful people and those who accomplish a lot in a day simply use their time differently.

For a start they do the following things:

1. Direction.

2. Focus.

3. A Plan.

Do you possess the above qualities?

If not then maybe it’s time you took a look at what you are achieving in a day….with Christmas coming onto our radar very soon it’s a good place to start making some changes and preparing yourself.

I personally love Christmas and sharing the day with family and friends it’s a very special day of the year.

I don’t find it stressful – I love the planning and preparing for the day and I find it very sad that so many people moan and groan about Christmas.

Every year I hear it constantly said…I hate Christmas and that time of the year. Now how sad is that….why would you hate Christmas? How boring would life be if everyday was the same and there was nothing to look forward to?

If you get organized and plan early then you will be able to look forward to the day with joy and that festive spirit…

Start with those above 3 points –

Direction…make some decisions and decide want you want for the day, what direction do you want to take? Where will you spend Christmas Day and with who? What do you see happening on the day and how does that make you feel?

Focus….now you know what you want for the day focus on how you will achieve this outcome and keep your focus on that every day.

A Plan…now write down your plan. Who will you buy presents for and what ideas do you have for what you will buy them? What food will you make and what ingredients do you need? Write down anything else you have to do and what is relevant to your Christmas Day.

On your PLAN work out from now until Christmas what are some things that you can do each week that will make it less stressful in the lead up to Christmas and on the day.

Each payday buy some presents and some food for the day. Wrap the presents up…start getting organized.

As you start crossing off some things that need to be done on your plan you will be less stressed about Christmas. Being organized brings much more joy to the occasion rather than being a grumpy, frazzled, worn out wreck on Christmas Day.

Some of the keys to success are preparation and being organized. Start with Christmas Day and see the difference it makes for you and make it a GOAL to continue being organized to bring so much more fulfillment, joy, fun and laughter into your life.

You have enough time for what is important in your life….stop making excuses and make it happen….know what you are BUSY doing and is it achieving anything for you!!!

Old ways won’t open new doors…

What’s Your Story

By | Blog

“Your Life Is A Story, What’s Done Is Done. It Is Totally Up To You Where It Goes From Here. You Can Write Your Own Ending.”

Where do you want to be in five years?

Can you envision your future…what does it look like? Is it a fun place to be? Are you financially secure? Are you HAPPY?

If you can see it and know where you want to be in five years time then STOP and take a look at your today’s story and how you live your life in this moment.

How is the story of your life looking so far?

Are you achieving your dreams on a daily basis? Does what you do improve your financial situation? Are you grateful for what you already have right now?

If you continue with this story will it get you the life you want?

If NOT …what are you going to do about it?

I’m sure you will be familiar with this quote from Albert Einstein:

”Insanity Is Doing The Same Thing Over And Over Again And Expecting A Different Result.”

That is such a true statement…if you want something different then YOU have to do something different.

Start a new chapter in your story called - ‘Where I Will Be In Five Years’ and take the action steps to ensure you arrive at the place you want to be in five years time.

If you don’t know what you want how can you get it. DECIDE – PLAN- FOCUS - TAKE ACTION – NEVER GIVE UP!!

“You Have To Believe In Yourself No Matter How Much It Is Stacked Against You.”
- Serena Williams

Now take a moment to think back to five years ago. Picture your life back then.

Imagine that someone asked you that same question then–

Where do you want to be in five years?

What would you have said then?

What were the dreams and goals you had five years ago? Are you today where you wanted to be when you decided this five years ago?

If not…why not?

Did the time just slip by and the years go too fast?

If you have made no progress or changes towards what you really want in the last five years then that is a total waste of time….a waste of your life.

There are no excuses we CAN always do something. This is not a dress rehearsal – THIS IS YOUR LIFE – this is your one shot at it.

Know that the next five years will go just as fast as the last five. How dreadful will it be to get there and still be living the same unfulfilled life?

Give yourself a kick up the backside because it is all up to you. No more excuses, no more waiting for the right time…Just go for it… that time is right now.

It is incredibly sad if you are not living the life you want. If you are not writing your story how you want it to be. It is never too late to write a new story. Your story doesn’t have to end here in this way.

Take inspired action today – commit to a new story – and do whatever you have to do to get it.

Get It All Attitude

By | Blog

“Any fact facing us is not as important as our attitude toward it, for that determines our success or failure.” - Dr Norman Vincent Peale

Your Attitude is that little thing that makes a big difference… it is everything – it is your power and can determine whether you will be unstoppable or not.

Your attitude is contagious, so make sure yours is worth catching.

An attitude of gratitude and thankfulness is a catalyst for extraordinary results.

A positive attitude is very powerful and can change a seemly bad situation into a good one.

A positive attitude is easier than you think; you just have to choose to have one.

That’s right it is easy all it takes is you to decide and to choose to have a great attitude. Change the way you think and your whole day will change.

It is looking adversity in the eye and saying just you watch me – I WILL DO THIS. Your attitude can pick you back up no matter how many times you fall.

It’s like the Japanese proverb…

This statement is so true you must always have that attitude it is all up to you. Your attitude helps you cope more easily and effortlessly with daily life challenges.

It is certainly a state of mind that is worth developing.

Your attitude is so powerful it will help you to strive everyday to be more successful, to learn new things and to overcome challenges.

It is very important to live a fulfilling and satisfying life and this comes down to your attitude towards life.

That you have determination, courage, stickability and the attitude that you can do anything. That there is always an answer.

Is your attitude a source of positive energy to those around you?

A great attitude motivates others and lifts their day…if you have an attitude to change someone’s day you will be a person that gives out meaningful compliments and lots of smiles, which lifts others energy, attitude and spirit.

Be someone each day that you would like to be around.

There are plenty of things that happen in life that you don’t have any control over but your ATTITUDE is 100% in your control.

Stop waiting for things to happen, go out and make them happen.

With the wrong mental attitude nothing can help you. If you can’t change your circumstances then change your attitude to them and answers will come.

With the right mental attitude nothing will stop you from getting your goals and the results that you want - you will be unstoppable - an absolute force to be reckoned with.

“ Attitude is everything. Life is 10% of what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.” - Charles R. Swindall

Giving The Gift Of Life

By | Blog

I’m going to start by asking you a few questions….

What is most important in life to you?

Is it a trip, having the latest sports car, living in a mansion, a loving family, great health, peace, being happy?

What does having it all mean to you?

What are you grateful for in your life?

Take the time to think about these questions and get real clarity …

Over the last few years since living through the trauma of the Christchurch earthquakes I have really searched deeply for what means the most….what do I want and need to be happy?

Without a doubt it is firstly the people in my life…my family and friends - I love and appreciate them and I am really grateful for all I have. I also know I have to have a purpose and to keep challenging myself to be successful.

To keep learning and growing so I am in a position to help others. I think it is very necessary to keep stepping up so that we can make a difference when the need arises.

To have the passion, love and the caring for those going through difficult and trying circumstances. To have fulfillment in my life.

The importance of this has well and truly been highlighted to me recently…

I have had the privilege of an insight into the life of a courageous precious little 12-year-old girl.

Maddie Collins has kidney disease and is on dialysis but to continue to live her life she needs a kidney transplant that is not available in New Zealand.

Her chance at having a transplant lies in being able to get to America for the operation at the cost of approximately $350,000.00

A very big and daunting task for her family who without this money and getting the transplant would simply have to watch their daughter die.

How could any parent face this thought and to live with this knowledge…it is far too cruel.

Maddie suffers everyday and no child or their family should have to live this way. Maddie is such an inspiration she is determined, courageous and one very incredible little girl.

When you climb into bed at night and you cuddle up all set to enjoy a great nights sleep - spare a thought for Maddie and her family.

Every night Maddie is hooked up to the dialysis machine which alarms constantly throughout the night meaning that Maddie and her family don’t get that luxury of cuddling up in bed at night and sleeping…they will face the night anxiously thinking of how many times they will have to get up and how they will find Maddie and what her needs might be.

It could be a dash into the hospital in the middle of the night to have tests carried out on some samples her parents might have to have taken. In Christchurch where they live there are no trained paediatrician’s for children on dialysis so Maddie’s parents are totally responsible for taking care of Maddie and her well-being.

Maddie in the last eight years has spent a lot of her life in hospital and having to endure countless painful procedures.

Life can change very quickly in a day for Maddie with constant infections and coping with high blood pressure the correct dosage of medications and daily testing of bloods and urine.

Maddie in the last school term has only been well enough to attend school for seven days. This is not what any parent would ever want to see their child go through and to know that she is missing out on her education.

First and foremost is the health and happiness of our family and Maddie and her family have had to cope with more than most.

Maddie’s mother Sarah, when being tested to see if she could give a kidney to Maddie, it was discovered she had breast cancer….How can this be you might be ask? I know I do …what the ???? it breaks your heart.

Take a step back and take a good look at all you have right now and be grateful and appreciate what is in your life. Show your family love and support…be kind and caring to others.

We never know what other people are truly going through and your act of kindness or your smile might make such a huge difference in their life.

Don’t carry on the arguments, gossip, the no talkies game, hurting others - forgive and move on.

None of us know what is just around the corner.

For Adam and Sarah Collins eight years ago they had a happy, healthy little four year old who one morning woke up with puffy eyes that they thought was an allergy.

Little did they know how instantly their whole family lives were going to change and especially for little Maddie.

I think of this amazing family everyday and challenge myself to come up with an answer to be able to help in getting this money for them so Maddie can get the kidney transplant she needs to survive.

To have the life that every little girl deserves and that she can go on to realize her dreams.

This is my driving force each day but I need help to reach this goal of getting $350,000 so if you all out there can get on board and help that would be fantastic.

Send me your ideas and suggestions, your help in making this go viral would be awesome - your donations on give-a-little are so gratefully received.

Our children are so precious so treat them that way.

Forget about sweating the small stuff and stressing over dramas that at the end of the day will not matter a damn…spend the time instead with your children and create lifelong loving memories.

Get on board with me and help Maddie reach her dreams ….

Set Yourself Up For Success

“Success doesn’t come to you, You go to IT.”
- Marva Collins

It is important to set yourself up for SUCCESS.

Have you had enough of hoping that you will get more success in your life, watching while it seems to happen so easily for others …have you simply had enough of the hard slog living from day to day – constantly living the same old stuff over and over!!

Hi…I’m Karen Scott – Creator of the ‘Unstoppable Life Program’ and I am here to help you bring ‘More Success into your life!
To Show You The Quick And Easy Way To Live The Life Of Your Dreams And It Can Begin Today….

How can you get started? It’s about applied consistent action, having a great plan and being disciplined to stick to it…taking the necessary daily steps.

Here are a few simple tips that may help you create the right first steps for you:

  1. Set some meetings up with successful people. Talk to people with the knowledge and skills that you want. Ask them questions. Importantly listen to their answers. When you keep talking you know that stuff but when you listen to someone else you can learn something you didn’t know. Don’t go in with a set plan just yet…be open to new ideas. Remember they have already got the success that you want. Don’t try and reinvent the wheel – they know how to do it and this can save you a lot of time and money. Good discussions with successful people can help you create your success more easily and effortlessly…A very worthwhile lunch date to organise I would think…..who better to learn from than an expert on the subject. Or you could ask if you can shadow them for a day at their work to better understand what their work is like. It is a great way to first find out if this is the direction you want to take. Go to seminars and listen to great speakers you always learn something and get a take home gem…when listening to other people’s successes ….its a great place to network you pick up great ideas and tips when talking to other like minded people.
  2. Read a few books that push your thinking. Books are a great place to get ideas… but don’t view a book, as the gospel truth on your topic, there are lots of different answers, but use it to expand your thinking to create new ways….. Many great things have been sparked from reading a book…. Don’t underestimate the power of this - it opens up your mind to other ways of thinking which is important as it is your own way of thinking that holds you back or propels you forward….Your thoughts create your reality…. There is an endless supply of information out there…millions and millions of books on every topic imaginable…. If you read one book a week look how much more knowledge you will have by the end of the year.“If you can dream it, you can do it.” - Walt Disney

  3. Start an ideas notebook. Begin to research and collect ideas and interesting examples for your new business, or products. Cut out pictures to look at daily. Being able to see things visually or to feel and touch them sparks off that mental picture and you get the clarity that then motivates you. The motivation gives you the momentum to keep searching…Writing down your thoughts and creating a file for inspiration can help your ideas emerge and grow…. Or put up a wallboard and put notes on it with your ideas. Get a little quick stick pad and just jot your thoughts and ideas down and stick it up on the wall. They can easily be removed or added to as your idea takes shape….Share what you have learned with someone you trust and get their input.
  4. Watch Great YouTube Videos or Podcasts. There are many great TED Talks and thousands of other speeches you can listen to. There are speakers on almost any topic available to you. Take notes and write down important points that can help you develop your own plans. Determine how to translate your key points into action and get started. It is so easy to search on the Internet and find the help and information you need.
  5. Create the vision and impact you hope to have. Ask yourself some questions… ‘What will be happening when you are living the life you want…visualise and what do you see?’ What will the impact be for you and others? How do you feel about it? Don’t worry if you don’t know your exact goal and the specifics yet. You should know your “why” though. When you come up with a big enough ‘WHY’ to do something you can figure out “HOW’ to do it. It doesn’t matter what you want in life – if you can figure out ‘WHY’ you want it, it gives you the absolute drive, the absolute power that gets you going. What is your purpose for doing something, the reason you are doing it. You have to know… What Do You Really Want For Your Life? And Why Do You Want It? When you know these answers with certainty you can really focus on what you need to do to achieve the result you want! And also ask yourself what will it cost you over the next 6mths, 2yrs, 5yrs if you don’t take action towards getting the life you want?

The Big Idea

By | Blog

Today I am going to talk about the Big IDEA

Ideas can change your life… So What Is Your BIG IDEA?

Do you watch time and time again when someone successfully comes out with this idea and you think ‘I thought of that…if only I had done something about it.’

Hi…I’m Karen Scott – Creator of the ‘Unstoppable Life Program’ and I am here to help you take action on your ideas.

Now is the time to Get really fired up. Let that burning desire that has been festering inside of you explode. Just like a caterpillar transforms into a beautiful butterfly. Get out there and be social and be free so you can really fly!

Don’t leave your ideas to gather dust on the shelf, and just keep doing the same thing year after year. Most people never act on their ideas. Ask yourself…How would your life change if you took action on one idea?

If you want to change your life you have to do something different than you have been doing. We show concern when a child is afraid of the dark but what we also should be showing concern about is when an adult is afraid of the light …step out…step up…get out there and be the ‘Social Butterfly.’ Enough is Enough YOU want it NOW…just go for it. Have no REGRETS in your life!!!

Regardless of what programme or mechanism you might choose to get the results you want and to achieve your goals, there is one common denominator that ensures peoples success and that is consistency and discipline.

The bottom line is most people don’t have enough consistency or discipline and so get distracted and defocused and if you don’t have some way of holding yourself accountable you never reach your goal it stays away out in the never ending future space somewhere.

It doesn’t matter what results you are looking for, be it … weightloss…business …..sport…finances….marketing….relationships….
fitness…everyone needs to have accountability.

You know all those ideas you have and those things you have always wanted to do ….You should go do them!!

As Richard Branson says,

“Nobody has a monopoly on ideas – a great idea can come from anywhere.”

Your world will change like night and day when you tap into your intellect….your THOUGHTS…you get what you consistently think about. You can create ideas and you can execute them, all you have to do is DECIDE…make a decision and take ACTION!

Do you really want to change or do you just want to talk about it for another year. Spend the time and money on developing your mind, your learning and it will change your world.

Learn the skills required to have consistency, discipline and how to hold yourself accountable so you can implement your ideas into your life. All you need to do is get in touch and I will contact you and we can have a chat about your ideas.

Have a great day and Talk soon!
